Woodland Gatherings at Meon Springs are all about bringing your friends, family, club or work colleagues for a day, night or weekend and enjoy making fire, exploring nature, developing bushcraft skills and even a spot of fishing and shooting.

You will have our Woodland Retreat Centre for your exclusive use.  (That's your group only, no one else around).

Your gathering can either be self catered, semi-supported by our team or self catered.  And can add other activities such as Bushcraft Skills and/or Woodland Dining.

Suitable for
  • Stag and Hen Parties
  • Corporate Groups
  • Families
  • Birthday Parties
  • Friends Gatherings
  • Other Celebrations

Whatever your reason and whatever you do, it's time around the campfire, chatting with friends, relaxing in a natural environment and an experience you'll remember for a long time.

To avoid driving home, you can spend the night at our Yurt Village, Shepherd's Huts or on site, with your own tents or in our comfortable Bell Tents, with clean sheets and warm duvets.

Please note, this is not an opportunity for a wild party or a rave.  You will very much need to respect your environment in terms of noise, rubbish and general behaviour.

Listen and Learn

what is bushcraft and why do it?

Bushcraft covers a range woodland skills designed around sustainably living in the wild.  Common ones are lighting a fire with sparks and by friction, cooking on an open fire, shelter building, plant identification and uses, cord making, finding and purifying water and much more.

Being in a natural environment and doing simple things is great for chilling out and helps expand the mind.

Bushcraft gives confidence and brings people together.  It takes people out of their comfort zone, challenges them and increases self awareness.

Bushcraft is low impact and involves highly sustainable activities. It is both physically and mentally active as well as being environmentally friendly.

Preparing Venison
On our Woodland Cooking and Dining Experience, your group will have to make fire (without matches), make utensils (from wood) forage and prepare all cooking ingredients the cook their own meal in the wild.

It is a brilliant and natural team building activity, with the reward of a hearty dinner and time around the campfire at the end.
