why meet off-site
Although it is usually easier to arrange for you and your team to book the company boardroom for to hold your meeting, there are a couple of serious disadvantages.
Distractions - the rest of the team know that you are on-site and they need their most important problems solved - NOW. What are they going to do? Yes, you got it "knock, knock, knock" and the careful "thought moment", with your team is destroyed.
Stagnation - Many teams spend most of their working life based out of one building. It doesn't matter how nice that building is, the same familiar scenery will keep the same familiar mental perspectives in place. If you want to develop something different - find a new place to do it.
And, there are a couple of serious advantages to taking your team off-site -
Establishing occasion. An off-site establishes a sense of occasion, particularly if it is done well.
This links creates a positive and memorable experience that will enhance your messages and development.
Networking - In this day and age, many teams work remotely and don't really get to know each other. In an off-site, that all changes, making future collaboration on projects much smoother.
