summer work at whitewool farm and meon springsAs we approach our busy season, we are looking for a couple of people to join our team.
One person to primarily help out on the farm, milking cows, driving tractors, helping with fencing and field work. The other to help with our non farming enterprises - our fly fishery, self storage, glamping and corporate activities. This will be dealing with customers, maintaining the fishing lakes, managing till work and sales, cleaning yurts and huts. The jobs are very different and although there may be some cross-over, it is likely to be two different people. the farm jobTHE JOB The farm job will be quite varied throughout the year involving many aspects of farm life, fencing, tractor driving, field work, milking cows, moving livestock etc. THE FARM The farm is a mixed dairy/arable farm with modern facilities and journeying towards a sustainable, regenerative system. For more details of the farm, click here www.meonsprings.com/farm. DURATION AND HOURS The job is available immediately and will finish September/October. Hours of work will mainly be during the week starting 8am till 5pm. There will however be times of longer requirement and weekend work. the "non farm" jobTHE JOB The "non-farm" job is also varied involving physical work - clearing weed from the lakes, mowing grass, cleaning yurts and huts, catering and serving food. It will also involve dealing with customers who are fly fishing with us or staying at our Yurt Village or Shepherd's Huts or using our Self Storage. DURATION AND HOURS We are looking for somebody who would like to work over the weekends throughout the Summer. It could be a four or five day week - Thursday/Friday till Monday/Tuesday. Hours of work will be from 8am till up to closing at 7pm. APPLYING No previous experience is required nor is a driving licence, however a means of getting to work is necessary. The jobe would suit somebody interested in working the countryside, who would like to develop their customer experience skills. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Over and above the basics, we are keen to quickly develop our team members to have a good understanding of the jobs they are doing and to progress in developing skills around farming, people management, stockmanship, machinery and teamwork.
We do this by regularly reviewing performance and planning training, where necessary. |
