Starting your journey from Meon Springs, you’ll have access to some of the most picturesque and rewarding cycling routes in the South of England.​ 

 

You can cycle through beautiful villages such as East Meon, West Meon, and Exton, each offering quaint pubs, historic churches, and welcoming cafés. For those seeking a longer adventure, routes can take you towards Winchester, Petersfield, or even the stunning coastline.

Hampshire boasts excellent off-road cycling options, including trails in Queen Elizabeth Country Park and sections of the South Downs Way. These trails offer fun and varied terrain for mountain bikers and families looking for a safe and scenic ride.

​​Bring your E-Bike for a tour round the local villages and pubs. Or try some of the Mountain Bike Trails at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.

Meon Springs popular cycling routes

For each cycling route, we have uploaded a GPX file that you can download onto your phone.  This will give you a route that you can easily follow.​

​

If you don't already have a favourite navigation map, we recommend Komoot for route planning and Strava for recording your performance.

Round the Block.

This is an easy two mile route around the valley bottom (no hills!) that is great for families with children.  Being a farm, you will likely see a cow or two in the fields and there may be some fences you have to negotiate.

East and West Meon

A good route through two very pretty villages.  Amenities en route include three pubs, two churches and one café.

The Bat & Ball

A lovely route, with an excellent destination pub.  Good for a Sunday Lunch outing.

The Railway Line & West Meon

A nice varied route, taking in a section of the disused railway line between West Meon & Wickham.

The Twin Peaks

A fantastic route, taking in both Beacon Hill and Old Winchester Hill.  Includes passing by The Shoe at Exton, which is a great pub. ​

Butser  & East Meon

A lovely route taking in breathtaking views and a beautiful village with traditional English pubs.

Queen Elizabeth Country Park

This is a 21 mile circular route to Queen Elizabeth Country Park, including a tour around the park.  It is 300m of climbing, so only for fitter cyclists.
