General Farm Worker at Whitewool Farm


 

Employment Type:

Full-time - Six months contract to begin with.
 

About the Role:

We would like to employ a motivated and hardworking General Farm Worker to join our team. No prior farming experience is necessary, but a keen interest in agriculture and a willingness to learn are essential. If you enjoy the idea of varied outdoor work, don’t mind getting stuck in, and are a fan of Clarkson’s Farm—you’ll fit right in!

Key Responsibilities:

Farm Maintenance: Fencing, general repairs, and upkeep of farm property.

Dairy Work: Milking, feeding cows, and yard work. (training provided).

Tractor Driving: Operating farm machinery (training given where needed).

Livestock Care: Assisting with feeding, bedding, and basic animal welfare tasks.

Arable Support: Helping with crop work as needed (cultivations, slurry spreading and general field duties).

Requirements:

Must have a full driving licence and ability to get to work.

Physically fit and happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Willing and able to get up for morning milkings starting at 4.30am
Willing to work weekends

Keen to learn and take on new tasks—no farming experience required!

Good work ethic, reliability, and an interest in farming

General Information

Whitewool Farm is a diversified dairy and arable farm running 400 cows, supplying milk to Sainsbury's combined with a number of non farming enterprises - Self Storage, Fly Fishing, Glamping and Corporate Events.

 

It has has a friendly and inclusive team oF around 15 people.

 

There are a range of job opportunities and leadership roles that we need to fill to run this business.  both farming and non farming. 

  • Dairy workers to help manage and maintain good health and welfare of our 400 cow dairy herd.

  • Tractor drivers and machinery operators to prepare and manage the fields for crop establishment, growth and harvest.

  • Fishing and Clay shooting instructors to help people develop their skills in these areas.

  • Yurt and Shepherd's Hut cleaners to keep our glamping sites beautiful.

  • Customer facing and marketing roles in our non farming businesses.
