In the UK, many of us are brought up to keep calm, carry on, and hold it together—no matter what’s going on underneath. Especially in leadership roles, where it’s common to face uncertainty and pressure, with a quiet hum of anxiety whirring away in the background.

 

I get it—I have been a business owner for over 30 years, as well as a trainer, and I know firsthand how it feels to appear composed while everything inside is not.​

Let’s get real very quickly here – lacking confidence is uncomfortable.  It allows anxiety and catastrophising to run free, it feels bad in the body and it stops you doing stuff.  It inhibits growth and prevents you taking reasonable risks to keep you, so called - “Safe ☹”.  Very often you look around and you think that everyone else has got it - And that makes you feel worse!!

 

That’s exactly why we have developed "The Confidence Shift".  A one day training to have you experience the tools to turn insecurity into quiet confidence.

Confidence Blockers

​​A "confidence blocker" is something that is preventing you from feeling confident in a specific situation or area of life. These blocks are sometimes hard to spot.  Below are five common ones, which, amongst others, we will  explore on 19th June 2025.​​

  1. You believe that confidence is something you develop and comes from outside of you.  Truth is, confidence is something that emerges from within and can be released, when you have nothing else on your mind.
     

  2. You conflate confidence and competence.  In other words you think it’s confidence you need to develop, whereas in reality it is competence you need to develop.
     

  3. You believe your thinking.  Particularly your “Inner Critic”, whilst your Inner Coach lies asleep.
     

  4. You’re spending too much time being run by reactivity.  rather than enabling your more productive responsive mode.
     

  5. Distractions.  Endless social media and vicarious experiences numbs you from extracting the life value out of real experiences.​

What is The Confidence Shift?

​​The Confidence Shift starts with a point of awareness, in a particular moment, when we realise that we are blocking our confidence.  

 

This alone can create a shift or, at the very least it will create a choice point  -  Do we carry on in our pre-conditioned, hypnotic programming or do we make a shift to create from a more productive frame of mind?

​​The Confidence Shift is complete when we realise we have made a positive shift in the way we are being.  This is something we can observe and is highly satisfactory, perhaps even worth celebrating.

Confidence Shifters

​​​​"Confidence Shifters" help you make a Confidence Shift.  Different ones are helpful to different people at different times.  On the training day, we will help you find out which ones are useful for you right now.

We Can Do It!!

Some examples of Confidence Shifters are: ​​

​​

  1. Awareness – Particularly Self Awareness.  Knowing who you are being and noticing where your attention is can give all the information you need for your Bio Intelligence to automatically make the Bio Intelligent changes that it needs.  If nothing else, by the end of the day, you will be more self-aware.
     

  2. Questioning your thinking, particularly thoughts about who you are.  Challenging limiting beliefs and assumptions is a liberating way to be more confident.  During the day, you will be exploring these methods and more.
     

  3. Positive somatic habits – It has been repeatedly proven in science and practice that positive somatic habits such as rhythmic breathing take you out of the anxious, always on system and into the more focused and relaxed system that enables flow.  We will be experimenting with these habits on the training day.
     

  4. Taking action – Doing stuff that you never felt possible will give you an experience of success.  By the end of the day, you will have done things you never felt possible.
     

  5. Getting your priorities right.   It could be to achieve greater success without burnout, a more relaxed approach to life is more successful.  Nurturing your preferred outcomes into existence rather than fighting and demanding them. Leaning in to whatever is happening in the moment.  Taking time to reflect and re-plan. Over the day we will discuss and explore these ideas.
     

Who is this For?

The Confidence Shift is for leaders, team members, and professionals. Particularly those feeling stuck, reactive, or just “off” and anyone really ready to drop the mask and reconnect with something real.

We run The Confidence Shift as a one-day open course, with the next taking place on Thursday, 19th June 2025.

 

For organisations looking to invest in their people, we also offer tailored versions that can be delivered as stand-alone training days or integrated into a wider Team Camp or conference here at Meon Springs. It’s a great way to combine professional development with the restorative benefits of time spent in the countryside.

Who is running the training?

Business owner (Meon Springs) and trainer. 

 

In my early career I was General Manager of MDS Ltd. A graduate training programme in the Fresh Produce industry.  The training and development we provided with this scheme was inspirational and transformative to many people and it is this that has inspired me to launch the training and development arm of Meon Springs.
 

My previous career in training, combined with over 30 years of running a complex diversified agricultural business, full of uncertainty, with long hours, tight margins and plenty of risk makes me well qualified to bring "The Confidence Shift" to life.

Stacey is a learning and development specialist and certified yoga teacher with over 15 years’ experience helping professionals build the confidence, clarity, and presence they need to thrive in the workplace.

 

With a background in corporate training and coaching, Stacey has designed and delivered high-impact workshops across industries, supporting teams and individuals to unlock their potential, navigate self-doubt, and communicate with impact. Her approach blends evidence-based mindset tools from psychology and adult learning theory with embodied practices from yoga and breathwork—creating learning experiences that shift not just how people think, but how they feel in their bodies.

 

As the co-facilitator of the Confidence Shifts workshop Stacey brings warmth, insight, and practical strategies to help professionals and individuals redefine confidence on their own terms and take it back into the workplace with authenticity and intention.

What's the Agenda?

The day will explore confidence blockers, how confidence shifts and confidence liberators in more detail, it will be full of discussion and experiential activity, showing just how flexible state of mind really is.

Hard start at 9.30am for the first session of introducing the concept and looking at how confidence shifts.

You may well have a number of reasons not to do this course. “I haven’t got time”, “It’s mid-week”, “Others will think I’m weak”, “It’s too expensive”, “None of my friends are doing it”.

 

If that is how you are thinking but still feel you need a better handle on confidence - at least, please explore how you can develop some Confidence Liberators. 
 

Perhaps even type into your favourite  AIBot“Why am I not confident?”. 
 

I did that, and the below is what it said.
 

“Lack of confidence often stems from negative self-talk, past failures, perfectionism, or comparing yourself to others. It can also result from limiting beliefs, fear of judgment, or lack of action. Confidence isn’t innate — it’s built through consistent effort, self-awareness, and learning to challenge the inner voice that holds you back”.
