Wow - Have you yet seen Paddington in Peru? The biggest Team Development Journey this side of an election.
Paddington gets himself a passport and takes The Brown Family to Peru to find Aunt Lucy, who is missing him.
The Brown family consist of "Risk Averse" Mr Brown, the caring Mrs Brown, the lazy teenager - Jonathan Brown and the progressive and keen up and coming graduate - Judy Brown. And - Of course - Paddington.
The adventure takes them to "The Home of the Retired Bears", in the deepest Peruvian Jungle, which turns out to be not quite as it seems. They then end up on an adventure heading up the river with all sorts of trials challenges.
The risk averse Mr Brown has to face his fears early on. The caring Mrs Brown learns to let go and let things take their course. The lazy teenager, Jonathan transforms from a gadget obsessed intravert to an amazingly creative inventor. And Judy Brown comes home more confident and appreciative, ready for life's challenges and her upcoming academic progression.
The film has inspired me to further develop our training offers at Meon Springs.

Oh - and as it happens - this coming Friday, I myself am off to Peru with my family to find the lost child "Flo", who has succumed to a semester of night clubbing in Lima (where she is meant to be learning Spanish). And travelling adventures in the the Peruvian jungle and mountains. I will post some pictures and if we find Aunt Lucy, will let you know.

Great read. Using Paddington in Peru as a team development lens is inspired, and Jonathan's arc from gadget-obsessed teenager to inventor is the part most managers underestimate. Our graduates start in the same place; they track progress the way you would keep a Fortnite Sprite Tracker, ticking off milestones one by one. A Graduate Training Adventure in rural Hampshire sounds far better than another meeting room. Good luck in Lima.
Naming the four strands separately is smart, because Graduate Training Adventure and Leadership Thinking Mission read as genuinely different products rather than one course relabelled twice. If you film any of it out in rural Hampshire, pulling a Video Thumbnail straight from the footage beats paying a photographer, and consistent stills would make the four offers look like one family. Aunt Lucy would approve of the retreat.
Using Paddington in Peru as a team development lens is a far better framing than most away-day material I have sat through. Mr Brown having to face his fears early, and Jonathan turning from a gadget obsessed teenager into an inventor, are exactly the arcs you want from a week away. We read You Make This House a Home with our youngest for much the same reason about belonging.
