It doesn’t seem possible that autumn is already here!

The leaves have started to change colour, there’s a definite nip in the air in the mornings, and as the evenings draw in, we’re beginning to see the first signs of autumn at Meon Springs.

And actually, we rather love it.

There is something particularly cosy about glamping at this time of year. As the temperature drops after the warmth of summer, our guests are lighting the wood burners inside the yurts and gathering around the fire pits outside as the flames start to glow in the evening darkness.

It adds a whole new level of cosiness to the glamping experience.

Autumn Walks, Waggy Tails & Cosy Evenings

If you’re looking for a reason to get out and explore the countryside, autumn is a wonderful time to visit.

The South Downs surrounding Meon Springs are looking beautiful as the landscape starts to change, and the cooler temperatures make it much more enjoyable to head out for a good long walk.

And of course, your four-legged friends don’t mind the cooler weather one bit!

Meon Springs is the perfect base for a dog-friendly countryside break, with plenty of lovely walks right on our doorstep. After a few hours exploring, there’s nothing better than heading back to your yurt, lighting the wood burner and settling down for a relaxing evening.

That’s what we call a proper countryside escape.

Team Time, But a Little Different

We’ve also welcomed some wonderful corporate guests recently, and it’s been great to see the Yurt Village being used for something a little different.

Did you know that you can book the whole Yurt Village exclusively for your company or business?

It makes for a brilliant team-building retreat, giving everyone the chance to get away from the usual office environment and spend some proper time together.

The Long Barn provides a great space for meetings, training or presentations, while outside there are plenty of opportunities to have a bit of fun too.

Teams can try their hand at axe throwing, fly fishing or clay shooting, or slow things down with our sauna and cold plunge experience.

There’s something quite refreshing about taking people out of the meeting room and into the countryside. A change of scenery can make a real difference to how people connect, communicate and work together.

And Then There's Christmas...

Yes, we know. It feels far too early to be talking about Christmas!

But we’ve already taken quite a few bookings for our Christmas parties, so clearly someone is thinking ahead.

And we can’t wait to see The Long Barn dressed up for the festive season.

Our beautiful 18th-century thatched barn has a completely different feel when it’s decorated for Christmas. Add good food, drinks, music and a group of colleagues or friends ready to let their hair down, and it makes for a pretty special setting for a festive celebration.
