Trout Fishing

Whether you are a novice or a troutmaster, you’ll receive a warm welcome and exciting day’s fishing for trout at our stillwater fly-fishery at the headwaters of the beautiful River Meon.

On arrival you can help yourself to  free tea and coffee and order a bacon roll or full English breakfast from our cafe, then simply sign in and start fishing.  If you leave us your email for notices of lake restrictions, you don’t even have to book.

You can really lose yourself whilst fishing at Meon Springs.  We are in a unique and beautiful valley, far from main roads and traffic.   We have two lakes, from which you can catch trout to take home with you plus an extensive stretch of Catch and Release – The Meon Beat, which is stocked with wily brown trout, to test the most experienced of anglers.

Our fish credit system means you only pay for the fish you actually catch and this, combined with the inclusion of catch and release on Meon Beat, means you’ll get great value whether the fish are quick to the line or playing hard to get.

Troutmasters

At Meon Springs, we put forward entries to the national troutmaster competition, and also reward the winner of each month with a free two fish ticket to be used the following month and the overall winner a £100 cash prize.

Club Membership

If you are fishing regularly at Meon Springs, it is worth considering becoming a Meon Springs Club Member.  You will receive extra discounts, together with free tuition evenings on the first Tuesday of each month.

Fishing Clubs

And if you wish to book as a group of six or more, you may like to consider a Fishing Club Day, where we can look after you and cater for you from our cafe.  With six or more people, you can also book a fully instructed shooting session to add to your day

We stock a carefully selected range of tackle, including packages to match your standard of angling and budget, fly selections that work specifically well at Meon Springs and other local still-waters, plus all the accessories and landing gear you will need for trout fishing.
