With our extensive lake system in our beautiful valley, we specialise in country days out for your team or clients for you to develop your business or just say Thank You.

The Cast and Blast – Fishing and Shooting Day

This combined fishing and shooting day is our most popular corporate day by far.

It is a combination of adrenaline fuelled shooting with the relaxation of fly fishing makes participants focused and relaxed.  It is a real treat for your clients or team.

The normal agenda is for participants to arrive at around 9-9.30am and, following coffee, with a full English breakfast, or a bacon roll or pastries.

Then go out for an instructed session on the shooting layout followed by a fun, yet often serious, competition.

Lunch is served in our Fishing Lodge.  During the Winter, we serve dishes such as home-made cottage pie and in the Summer it is often steak barbecue or a smoked salmon buffet (please see our corporate menu for choices). 

In the afternoon, guided by our instructors, the participants head for the lakes, to catch a fresh trout or two. 

This is a most relaxing part of the day, the gentle action of casting a line, will often get people to completely lose their thoughts of the office and work-related problems and become totally engrossed in what’s around them – the Fly Life, the scenery, the sound of the water and the activity of getting that fish on the line.

We have a full set of risk assessments, first aid and food hygiene certificates, which can be provided on request.

Variations 

There are a number of variations on this theme. 

You can of course have a full day of just fishing.  This would involve learning the skill in much more detail and spending more time on the lakes.

You can also do a full day on the shooting layout.  The day will be much enhanced by more team competition, including team flushes.

You can also do a half day of fishing or shooting or a half day cast and blast.  This can be combined with a meeting to make a useful Office Away Day.

We can also incorporate Archery into your day and we have even done a couple of days on the farm – milking the cows and driving tractors.
