Meon Springs Fly Fishery is one of the most renowned stillwater trout fisheries in the South of England and an excellent place to learn and develop your fly fishing skills.
The fishing lakes are stocked with top-quality rainbow trout (2lbs+) and larger trout for catch-and-take. For those seeking more of a challenge, you can fish our extensive catch-and-release section stocked with smaller rainbows and brownies, a true test of your angling skills.

At Meon Springs Fly Fishery, the team strives to make your fishing experience as convenient as possible. You can enjoy day fishing, club membership, experience days, and fly fishing lessons. There is a well-stocked tackle shop and Zed and Bolly's Café and Bistro on site.

​​​​​​For those who wish to extend their stay for the ultimate fishing break, you can book a Shepherd's Hut right by the lakes. Or, if you are bringing the family or a larger group, stay in our Yurt Village, further up the valley.​

One thing about Fly Fishing is that it's not so easy, from home or the office, to keep informed as to what is happening on the lakes, which is why since the internet was invented we write and publish a weekly Fly Fishing Conditions Report, letting people know how to fish the current conditions, what flies are working as well as offer a weekly fishing tip and, just for fun a fish of the month leaderboard.

Day Fishing Tickets are available to book up to 8am on the day of fishing. The lakes are home to rainbow trout, making it an ideal spot for fly fishing enthusiasts. On a day ticket, you can fish from 8am until 7pm or dusk during the shorter days.
During the Summer, you can purchase an Evening Fishing Ticket to provide access to the lakes between 2pm and 9.30pm or dusk during the shorter days. Day and Evening Fishing Tickets are limited and exceedingly popular; please plan ahead, we only accept online bookings.
Meon Springs Fishing School is dedicated to providing excellent tuition throughout your fishing journey.
Our experienced instructors will guide you from catching your first fish to becoming a competent angler and being able to cast an elegant line and tangle with the most challenging trout.
You can choose from a number of tuition options. As an absolute beginner book an Experience Day, where you will be fishing as part of a small group on the same journey. For untangling specific problems book a "One to One". And for a longer learning session to move to the next level of angling expertise, for one or two people - book a Taster Session. We also have options for children.
Meon Springs Fishery Club is a terrific opportunity to meet and socialise with fellow anglers. You also benefit from discounts and regular club meets and gatherings. Meon Springs Fishery is a very friendly club that welcomes all levels and experiences.
Why not stay over in a Shepherd's Hut right by the lake. These double bed Shepherd's Huts. equipped with kitchen and shower are sophisticated and comfortable making your stay, on your own or with a partner, most enjoyable.
For four people, book Hawthorn, which consists of two huts that can be made up as four singles or two doubles. For larger groups, stay at the Yurt Village, where up to six families can book the whole site.
