Alitex charity clay shoot hits more than its target
"We recently organised a charity clay shoot at Meon Springs, a stunning venue located in a beautiful valley in Hampshire. The team at Meon could not have been more helpful and enthusiastic when we approached them with the idea.
"They were involved with the planning process from the very beginning and came through with lots of great ideas for how to enhance the event, and were happy to work with us to help us achieve our fundraising goal, we raised over £2,000 in end, double our original target. "On the day everything went seamlessly, everyone worked so hard to ensure all participants enjoyed their experience at the event, we received lots of positive feedback both during the day and afterwards. It was a pleasure to work with the Meon Springs team, and we hope to organise more events using this great venue in the future." Emma Parkin, Marketing Manager, Alitex |

Sales conference with a difference for international finance company
Sales conference with a difference for international finance companyAmerican International Group, Inc., also known as AIG, is an American multinational insurance corporation with more than 88 million customers in 130 countries. One of their sales teams numbering more than 30 people visited Meon Springs for a sales conference and some team building. Here's their story...
Being a large institution we were looking to put together a conference that removed us from the corporate city environment and gave our sales team a more back-to-basics team building experience. From the very early stages of organising the conference and right throughout the delivery, Jamie and his team at Meon Springs were so helpful and were prepared to do everything they could to ensure we had a fantastic and memorable stay. Although the weather was poor and it rained during our shooting, archery and fishing activities, the farm staff were happy to ferry us around the farm on tractors and work as hard as possible to ensure we still enjoyed our outdoor experience even with the weather. We hired all of the Meon Springs Yurts and the Yurtery for our stay and we were extremely impressed with the furnishing, facilities and the beautiful setting of the farm. We were extremely comfortable, warm with plenty of space for all 31 of us to spread out. Meon Springs have recently converted one of their barns into a fully functioning conference room. We found this to be a fantastic asset. Unlike most traditional conference facilities it was light, spacious and airy making it a comfortable environment to deliver training and presentations. The whole team - even the anti-campers - had a fantastic time and we could not recommend Meon Springs enough as an alternative conference facility. |
Wild Trout Trust fundraiser keeps on giving
The Wild Trout Trust (WTT) is a conservation charity that focuses on practical work to improve habitat for trout across the UK and Ireland. It works with grass roots organisations - fishing clubs, local community and conservation groups) and landowners to give them the inspiration, advice and practical skills to improve and maintain their lake or river for the benefit of trout and all wildlife.
For more than eight years the Wild Trout Trust has held an annual fishing competition at Meon Springs to raise money for the wildlife charity. Over the years the event has raised more than £30,000 with the cash used to help improve the habitat of the River Meon. Shaun Leonard is the director of the WTT: “The venue for this fundraiser is Meon Springs Trout Fishery, who host the day with exceptional professionalism: lots of fish (even on a roasting, sunny day) and an absolutely perfect venue for stillwater fishing and for lots of socialising. Lunch was held in Meon Springs’ stunning new events venue, The Long Barn, before a raffle and auction where some great prizes, including exclusive fishing, were won at superb value." |
A 'perfect London getaway' for Nando's
Nando's is an international casual dining restaurant chain originating in South Africa. Founded in 1987, Nando's operates about 1,000 outlets in 30 countries. Here, one of their UK teams talks about combing meetings with countryside activities for a 'perfect London getaway'
We just got back from a great midweek visit to Meon for some serious work and some serious play too. The farm is beautiful and the peaceful environment really helped us to achieve some great work. We decided to participate in clay pigeon, archery and also an early start milking the cows which was a lot of fun. We decided to have our meetings in the fishery which is down by the river...magical! The Yurts were big and had all we could ask for in a tent. The central fires brought a great warmth to the Yurts which provided a warm nights sleep. Do remember to get fires lighted before heading to bed. The Yurtery is fully stocked with fridges; cookers and a BBQ outside. Numerous sofas and big table meant we were able to enjoy the nights together. |
