MEON SPRINGS TEAM DEVELOPMENT - TRAINERS AND FACILITATORS
All the team development workshops at Meon Springs are delivered by qualified and experienced trainers and facilitators. Below are a number of the team players.
GERRY NORTHWOOD
My career has been both military and civilian. During my naval career I reached the rank of Captain, along the way commanding ships and operations. This included against Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean and narcotics smugglers in the Caribbean. I was involved in the creation of the European Union Naval Force (EUNAVFOR) and Maritime Security Centre Horn of Africa (MSCHOA) and for this I was awarded an OBE. Since leaving the Royal Navy I have enjoyed applying my operations experience to the commercial sector, where I have been able to play a successful part in improving company performance and developing operational teams. My commercial and military experience has placed me in a good position to provide advice and mentorship to individuals and teams interested in improving strategic leadership, operational and HR processes, and crisis management. My preferred method is to work collaboratively with the client to provide a leadership or management solution which is tailored to their needs. Training Role Any workshop that involves a Leadership Development or Teambuilding role. Interests My interests include International Relations, History, and Economics. I am a keen cricketer and I am Fixtures Secretary to Broadhalfpenny Brigands CC. Windsurfing is another passion I have pursued for many years and I am a member of the UKWA and was the Formula 11.0m class National Champion in 2010. I am a past Rear Commodore (Windsurfing) of the Royal Naval Sailing Association. I am lucky enough to live in the Meon Valley in the South Downs National Park with opportunities to walk, run and mountain bike on the many unspoilt trails in the Park. Education: MA in Defence Studies – Kings College London. JAMIE BUTLERI gained my training credentials through running a training and development company in the Fresh Produce industry (Management Development Services) plus 25 years of being a Director of H.N. Butler Farms Ltd. & Meon Springs alongside extensive professional development and a coaching training in London. I love running businesses, I love working with people. My current role is as Director of Meon Springs, managing the strategic direction, team and finances of the business. Training Role Any workshop that involves a Leadership Development, or Teambuilding role as well as emotional resilience and wellbeing. Interests Other than farming and running businesses I very much enjoy Mountain biking, road cycling and sailing. Education & Training Bsc in Agriculture - University of Plymouth ian goslingBased at Meon Springs, I own and run Embers Bushcraft. Over the last 15 years I have been heavily involved in working with many group types including vulnerable and sensitive people of all ages. My passion is working in nature. ‘Working in this environment gives us the opportunity to separate ourselves from the daily grind and responsibilities that define our daily lives, therefore allowing us to reflect upon or lives, review our life choices and directions and redefine who we choose to be and what we wish to achieve.‘
