Glamping Hen Do's in YurtsOver the years, we have hosted many Glamping Hen Do’s at our Yurt Village and what is such fun is each one is totally different, although essentially the same...
The last one – depends on you. Many hen parties bring mum along, the occasional male and many in the group bring unborn babies but rarely do we see partners or children, who are normally looking after each other back home. This guide is about providing you information to make your Glamping Hen Weekend in Yurts the best possible experience ever for all involved "Lurv Yurting..." |
Yurts and Hen do's at a glance
|
Our Glamping Site
We have six yurts at the village and The Yurtery, a communal area for cooking, dining and chilling out. The first question is – have you (or are you planning) to hire out the whole Yurt Village?
The advantage of hiring the whole glamping site is that you can take over all the facilities and make the place your own for the weekend. And: You can take over the whole Yurtery for your Hen Do party. You can either BBQ on site in the evening or use The Yurtery’s fully equipped kitchen. |
Themes
There are a number of Hen Do themes that we’ve had including “Glamping it Up” was the one where the groom arrived, with no clothes on - as a cardboard cut-out... Another group had an “International Glamping Theme” by allocating a different country to each yurt. All the occupants attending the party dressed as their respective new nationality. Imagine dressing up as Nicole from France, or Lian from China. And – if you’re having problems flirting with nomads or don’t know how to tell your Kazakh beau you’re ready to get serious – get yourself a T shirt with the following quotes: “My Yurt or Yours” “Love Me Love My Yurt” From http://www.cafepress.com/yurtopia |
Activities
Relaxing Stuff Pampering Sessions If before the Hen Do party, the girls would like to treat themselves to some simple beauty treatments, you can organise a pamper package. Or you can make up your own pamper package from a selection of holistic and beauty treatments. A typical treatment package consists of three treatments but this varies on the type of treatments you have, and length (express or full-length). You can of course tailor the hen do packages for your wants and needs.

Butler in the Buff Some Hen Do's like to be served by a Butler in the Buff (our surname is Butler, regretfully, we are too expensive for this service). What other Hen Parties have done and suggested Things that you did that were fun. Ate and drank (a lot), had a murder mystery dinner, played lots of games and quizzes and went for a walk to collect wild flowers which we then painted in a water colour challenge. Services (eg taxis etc.) that were good and efficient (or if not we would still like to know). Not much really. One hen arrived in a taxi from the station and the driver didn't know where he was going. She read the instructions allowed as they went though and he got her there! There was a good local shop (West Meon Village Stores) which a hen was dispatched to on Sunday morning for cake. They also run a cafe, where you can get tea/coffee and a full English if you wish. Themes that you used. Our theme was 'Glamping it Up' i.e. glamorous camping chic so we had lots of feather boas, tiaras and beauty queen sashes and well as night with some of the tackiest charity shop evening dresses we could find. Things that you didn’t do that could have been good. "I think I heard something about a vineyard nearby, which would have been cool but once we were there we found that didn't really need to leave. We're really too old (and lazy) for clubbing at that kind of things so we just wanted a nice chilled out weekend where everyone coud relax in their pyjamas and that's exactly what we got. It was fab. We also had some facepacks and nail varnishes and meant to do a pampering session but in the end, we just played trivial pursuit instead. (The vineyard is Wickham Vineyard - http://www.wickhamvineyard.com/ )" Any other comments or tips. "Bring lots of food and drink so you don't run out, if you're all in a big Hen group you can use all the fridges and even have a special fridge for fizzy wine which was quite satisfying. The kitchen in the Yurtery was great for cooking for people in big numbers and we found everything we needed. Oh, and make sure you light your log burner in the Yurt (if its a bit chilly) before you drink too much!" Terms & Conditions We don’t have many terms and conditions for glamping, however, our valley is very peaceful and out of the way and noise travels easily for miles. So, one thing that is really important is that you must keep the noise down, when outside at night. Booking the Yurt Village If you haven’t done so already, you can book the Yurt Village online from our website: www.meonsprings.com/booking And Finally... We will do anything we possibly can to make your Hen Do go really well. All you need to do is talk to us. Give us a call on 01730 823794. |
