Trout Fishing
Trout Fishing at Meon Springs
Located in a secluded valley beneath the South Downs; Many people consider Meon Springs to be the most picturesque trout fishing venue in Hampshire.
We have two trout lakes, with plenty of rainbow and brown trout to catch and take home. Or, for more of a challenge you can fish our catch and release beat, in which we stock smaller trout in the gin clear chalk-stream water. This is great for stalking.
Trout master's
We have been a Trout master Water in Hampshire for many years and although we don’t claim to be a “Big Fish Trout Water", many a double has been entered into the competition.
Trout maste entries and Trout of the Week are posted on each weekly update (to receive, please send an email to update@meonsprings.com). The best three of the month will qualify for our trout master fish-off, which we hold in March.
On arrival
When you arrive for a day's trout fishing at Meon Springs, you can help yourself to free tea and coffee in our comfortable fishing lodge and before you start fishing just sign in the book.
Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day and, as we are fully licensed, you can purchase a beer or glass of wine to relax with, whilst you overlook the lakes.
At Meon Springs, you can access the internet with your lap-top, enabling you to combine a relaxing day's fishing with a great day's work.

If you do not catch your trout, we will provide you with a fish credit, which can be used when you next come fishing, or if you prefer we will catch the fish for you.
When you have caught the fish you want, you may de-barb your hooks and head for Meon Beat, our catch and release section, all in the same price.
"At Meon Springs if you haven’t caught your purchased fish, they will give you a credit to catch them when you next come fishing. Or, if you prefer, they will catch the fish for you."
