Fishing for trout is a most relaxing, yet exciting way to spend a day and, whatever your level of experience, at Meon Springs you will have a great time on the lakes.
- Your days fishing can be fully guided or you can be left to your own devices.
- You can choose a catering option to suit your needs and budget.
- You can combine your fishing experience with any other activity.
On a typical Corporate Fishing Day, you will gather at our Fishing Lodge for tea/coffee and a bacon roll and meet your hosts and instructors for the day.
You will then be provided with tackle & equipment, made aware of the health and safety points associated with fly fishing and given a short presentation and demonstration of the skills you need to cast your rod, catch a fish, retrieve and land it.
You are then out to the lakes to have a go. If you haven't fished before, this can be the most exciting yet frustrating part of the day as you come to terms with relaxing into the accurate timing needed to get that perfect cast.
By mid-day, with or without assistance, you will have experienced a fish on the line and hopefully landed a trout or two.
Lunch is provided in our Fishing Lodge. You can choose cold options, such as a smoked salmon buffet, BBQ options or good home-made, Farmhouse Food. Vegetarians and those with special dietary needs can be easily catered for in a no fuss kind of way. Full menus can be found in our e-brochure.
Fishing continues during the afternoon, when the more experienced of you may like to take to our Catch and Release lakes for more of a challenge or you may like us to organise a competition for the Biggest Bag or Best Team.
We normally break at around 4.30pm for afternoon tea, awards and prize-giving; after which your team is free to disperse or carry on fishing into the evening as they prefer.
The day is most relaxing and offers plenty of time to catch up with your clients or colleagues. It is perfect for both men and women of all levels of experience.
